Purpose

To give craftsmen and technicians a practical working knowledge of the application and use of Programmable Logic Controllers in Manufacturing,

Course content

Level 2 is a continuation for those delegates who may have attended a basic course or those who have some previous PLC experience. It may also be used as a revision course.

Along with the Hardware & Software elements there will be programming & faultfinding exercises using conveyor systems & software simulation.

Ladder programming will be used throughout alongside the development & use of Program Files, Data Files & Memory Organisation.

The Trainee after instruction will be able to:

  • Access RS Linx & RS Logix
  • Provide & understand Hardware configurations
  • Understand Programming Techniques using RS Logix
  • Be familiar with numbering systems including Binary, BCD & Hexadecimal
  • Create & Identify new or used files
  • Produce Structured programmes
  • Modify, Edit, Document & provide/display Symbols
  • Appreciate & use Timers & Counters
  • Create & use Data & Program files
  • Use the Search/Find & Data display windows
  • Enable & use the Force Functions

    Handbooks, Pens & Exercise sheets will be provided.

    Certification

    Flexi Tech certificate of competence will be awarded on successful completion.
